Acer AOD250-1613 10.1-Inch Black Android/XP Netbook - Up to 9 Hours of Battery Life
Acer AOD250-1613 10.1-Inch Black Android/XP Netbook - Up to 9 Hours of Battery Life Review

I was pleasantly surprised about the Android part of the computer after reading various reviews. I have had no glitches with it to date, after using it for over a week now anyway. It boots up fast, gets online fast and can get e-mail fast.
There is a website, like another reviewer wrote, that is dedicated to the Android netbook market. They have almost 90 Apps now, and all are FREE as of now. The website is [...]. I have downloaded several already. The language app works much better than I expected, it gives fairly accurate translations. There are a couple I downloaded that did not work right, however, but all the other did. The secret to getting the apps is to use the built in browser, NOT firefox to download the apps. You have to press the right mouse button (right side of the acer single button) to be able to select “go” to type in the address.
The XP part works as expected, better than any other windows I have tried. I have not tried 7 yet though.
I love the compact Acer, I do not like large laptops after owning 2 of these now (dropped the first on a tiled cement floor). It is very light with extremely long battery life.
I would suggest an external dvd drive for loading certain programs, such as your printer software among others. Other than that it is a great little computer.

| Review by Jonathan Cordova (USA) 2010-07-16 The best thing here is actually the price. For well under $ 299 you get a laptop with functional reference all the bases, but without frills. | Review by Jonathan Roylance (SALT LAKE CITY, UT USA) 2010-07-23 First, the battery life was impressive. I never got 9.75 hours out of it, but still more than 7, for sure. (He had for about a month) The keyboard is comfortable, but I wish the backspace were slightly larger on the left. And I was accustomed to using Home and End keys, b... | |
