I bought this for my wife to have a simple computer downstairs for email, web, and Facebook, and this has been a great choice. It is such an attractive design, the white color gives it a touch of style (shows no fingerprints on the glossy cover), it is very lightweight and the battery seems to last forever. The matte screen is great, so there is no glare.

The wireless N is super fast at 150mbs, and not many other Netbooks on the market even offer N. Don’t worry about needing to get a Netbook with a usb DVD drive, save your money. Once I set this computer up on my home wireless netbook, I simply put any programs I needed to install that were on a CD (e.g. MS Office) on my main computer’s share drive and I just went into ‘My Network locations’ and executed the file from the shared folder. With the fast N connection it wasn’t bad at all.

I haven’t noticed any speed issues making me wish I had the 280 Intel chip instead of the installed 270. You don’t run any major programs on this that should really task the processor. Again, save your money and go with this model instead of paying -75 more for a 280 Netook.

I do recommend to pay and get the 2MB RAM upgrade. It made a nice difference, especially in web browsing and having multiple pages/tabs open. This was a simple install, and I actually did it in less than 5 mins. while I was eating my lunch. I feel this upgrade would be suggested for any netbook, since it appears they all come with 1MB.

Another upgrade you might want to think about is getting an external wireless mouse. That is personal preference, but I can’t stand the touch pads-any of them. So I bought a MS mouse that has a micro USB transmitter, and you don’t even know it is there. Again, you will want to do this with any netbook, so don’t hold it against this model.

The Windows XP comes with minimal junk programs pre-installed, so the novices out there can basically leave this as is, out of the box.

I check the local electronic stores adds weekly and I just don’t get why they don’t carry this model. They either carry one that is close, or more expensive, or not as sleek (just black).

This unit has it all, the looks, great price, and all the features that many netbooks don’t have (even more expensive ones).
