Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/T 10.1-Inch Brown Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/T 10.1-Inch Brown Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I am very satisfied with my W Series netbook. I was aware of the criticisms posted by some other reviewers. The netbook works fine for me. The profile photo on Amazon clearly shows the battery unlike some other sites. It doesn’t bother me at all. It tilts the netbook at a nice angle, and it keeps the netbook cooler. The fan is not that loud. The display is great! The high resolution images are superb. If you are far-sighted, you might want something else. I like the clarity of the images. The right shift key is small, but I have adjusted. The keyboard feels nice and I can type fairly rapidly. I bought it for reading email, surfing the web, and working on basic Office documents. It does all of these things well. There are cheaper products, but I like the Sony quality and reliability. I recommend this netbook.

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005HA-MU17-BU 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - 8.5 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005HA-MU17-BU 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - 8.5 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I’ve not had this machine very long and it works just fine. My problem is with the in box support. Video out is via a 15 pin vga connector which is not included. There is not Win 7 manual and the machine manual is limited to a short “quick start” booklet. There’s no carrying case in the box which given the price seems kinda chintzy.

There is good internet support for the device.

I’d buy it again, but these are not so small disappointments.

Gateway LT2023u 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 3 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Gateway LT2023u 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 3 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
So far so good, nice key board, easy to used. BESHURE to make a restore disc. The first time after the set up make shure you type in slowly your password, you may hit another key like I did or it just locked me out. You have to log in everytime, I don’t know if you can by-pass the log in like the larger lap tops or it maybe windows 7. It took a friend and some reading to restore (2hrs), no support number for Gateway (I could not find one, @#$%%^). Over all from what I know pretty good for one day, need to play with it some more.

Acer AOD250-1624 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - Over 3 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Acer AOD250-1624 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - Over 3 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I highly recommend this. Bought it for myself. Model D250-1206 5 weeks ago. I have had a laptop and now have a desktop, but have always wanted the ease and portability of a netbook. This one fits all my needs and is great to carry around,in or outside the home.

The only thing I would like is a longer battery life; so we are going to search for one. I think there is one that gives you 6 hours - this one gives you 3; although I haven’t specifically clocked it. If anyone out there knows where I can get the longer-life battery, I’d certainly appreciate the assistance.

Acer AOD250-1357 10.1-Inch Coral Pink Netbook - Over 3 Hours Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Acer AOD250-1357 10.1-Inch Coral Pink Netbook - Over 3 Hours Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
Okay, netbooks don’t have DVD or CD burners and generally have less memory and RAM than other laptops. That being said, this is an excellent netbook. This comes with Windows 7 Starter which is a huge improvement over Vista and is as good as or better than windows XP. This netbook is easily upgradeable to 2 GB RAM and though I haven’t found any need to upgrade it performance-wise I am going to stick an extra 1GB in it. Acer is a quality brand and is very affordable and the colors of this little netbook make it cooler than the average black ones out there. If you don’t mind the screen size, don’t need/want a DVD or CD drive then this is perfect. Homework, internet browsing and general apps all run well on it.

Acer AOD250-1197 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Acer AOD250-1197 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
The Acer Aspire D250 is a great netbook PC, and the 1197 flavor contains four differentiators:
(1) Windows 7 Starter OS
(2) 250GB hard disk drive
(3) 6 cell battery (~8 hours’ lifespan)
(4) the standard English keyboard layout

..and it comes in blue :-)

Having visited 8 different retail stores and having tried/returned two Asus 1005HA’s, I spent a considerable amount of time comparing / contrasting models.

Gateway LT2030u 10.1-Inch Red Netbook - Over 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Gateway LT2030u 10.1-Inch Red Netbook - Over 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
Have enjoyed my Gateway LT2030 netbook for about a week now.
Keyboard - pretty good, can touch type immediately without difficulty. Multitouch is fun, espec for photos.
Display - excellent, albeit locked into 1280×600 on the book, you can go larger with an external monitor
Win 7 Starter - I like it. setup took about 4 minutes. Saw a lot of posts about only being able to open 3 apps, but this hasn’t been an issue. I have Chrome (you can have as many web pages as you want), word, paint, Win Media player, and a chess game open right now. No crashes so far. The “Do you want to let this program make changes?” on installs is more tolerable for some reason. Cloud apps are the plan. Haven’t installed a lot yet.
Software - lots of gateway junk games, but Chess Titans is not included. ???? This is a miss. Can watch netflix wirelessly without lags. Basic Works, MS offerings otherwise.
[...]
I can carry this thing around the house, throw it in the car, feed my attention deficit in many new settings. Great basic tool. [...]
